The Hibernation Film Festival - Online Screening

[Music] hello and welcome to the hibernation Film Festival my name is James and I am your host for this evening so here at Bear Jam we decided to set up the hibernation Film Festival as soon as we went into lockdown our first category of this evening is documentary so we were looking for a film that documents the current times we're living in and the prize well the prize is a fantastic travel bag from our friends over at stubble and Coe the nominees for best documentary are by subjection by Jessica Johnson seen as their successful battle against the deadly virus but we're now learning just how irresponsible they've been and lockdown I remarked Oh [Music] the government's left and the winner for Best Documentary is lockdown [Music] the time it is four for four and I'm still awake it's not even day one yet tomorrow will be day one it's like day four or five of lockdown and on day seven day 11 to X day 27 over a month it will be the end [Music] they covered that slab so somebody's density so much choice in selection ha ha ha ha chicken has been the hardest thing to find at the grocery store at eight o'clock every night since the party started everybody starts to kind of cap in honor everybody that's working on duty at the moment I'm not crying because I'm scared just found us lots of he'll really look forward to things being back to normal I hope everyone's doing okay and let's continue to help each other you know so our next category is narrative one of the most hotly contested categories and one we've received the most submissions for so here we were looking for the best fictionalized story the nominees for Best narrative are flight by Hannah Beach mind tricks by Robert Hutton I'm won by Jasper McDermott sometimes the things we want most don't happen and we learn that it's less about what we do more about how we do the winner of Best narrative and taking home the prize of a weekend camera higher from shift4 is mind tricks [Music] moving on to best animation and stop-motion and probably my favorite category and the nominees for best animation of stop-motion are love letters from quarantine bifida Simoni staying positive in a crisis by Sara Randall [Music] and wash your hands more often by alx Podolski and the winner of the category and taking home a gorgeous Bramwell Brown clock love letters from quarantine you so the next category is creative so here we were looking for abstracts or more kind of alternative films basically anything that didn't fit into the other categories and well you guys really didn't disappoint and the nominees for best creative are big cats the movie by Raffi what should I do boss bring me a box oh no we're big trouble big cat wants to see you oh no we're done for we're done for our kingdom by Irene Marco and aqus meet it [Music] papi and Jason by Cydia Gordon Jason your step your sound isn't your family can be hi papi okay now listen I don't have a lot of time because I only have six minutes left of screen time for today I am calling you to end our relationship Oh xoxo by Anais dehaka peon and Steven Quinet [Music] and the winner big cut the movie by Raffi Rescue Scarface klore hey who goes there [Music] chi Chi Lam I can't believe the bugs let's go freak or escape what should i do boss bring me the box oh no we're big trouble think that wants to see you now oh no we don't fall we're done for you let's take our state you're getting polished isn't a secrets which we get imprisoned the big cats I'll press it let's go back to your format is garbage time dogs what are you doing here we imprisoned the big cats I'm season twice no it's the gloves oh no Rodolfo that's - grumps I hope they don't find us [Music] did you bring nice car sorry boss until it's not on them now I'm done I told you I wanted to blame it's coffees glue stick where's papa [Music] Dyson's you finally say from that crazy cat the big cat is really play big sister he went evil when she was hit by a meteorite Wow really you better cool you'll big sister Scarface is that you yes it's me big sister it's the reason unless I've made don't want to come to our house I'm on my way I'm here bye bye everybody watching I guess that's agenda [Music] so as part of our film festival we wanted to recognize best student film and loosely Brydon one of our fantastic judges has offered her time as a prize and the winner of best student film love letters from quarantine creating a film in isolation is no mean feat so we wanted to make sure our judges were looking out for creative and interesting ways that people got round this so our prize for best remote collaboration goes to Irene and Marcos for their film lockdown so next up is best use of a prop and the opportunity to win a pair of Apple earbud pods if you know you know what I mean those headphone things so the winner big cap the movie and the scene I particularly want to call out is the car scene great use of the car the camera movement gives some real speed and a really creative use of the resources that you had during the judging process our judges were on the lookout or well listening out for the best line of dialogue and the winner is poppy and Jason by Cydia Gordon Jason Jason Jason you'll set your sound isn't your family hi okay now listen I don't have a lot of time because I only have six minutes left of screen time for today I am calling you to end our relationship oh but we're engaged yes I know it's very sad okay it's not something I want to do it's something I have to do because mum told me I understand really I didn't have enough time for GTA and go of duty I know so this works on me for this to be furious we need to keep doing our Wednesday play dates yeah and we're not allowed we can still have play dates on zone I know how it's not because I don't love you anymore not many people do but I know how I don't think we can get to the next level which would probably be a legs touching on the couch so I just thinks of them I still bus three minutes I'm just breaking up with Jason give me three minutes Thanks also whenever i watch shriek for I will think of you Jason yeah shriek for trick one is actually my favorite welcome to do not I know that you like Shrek for the bus which is why I always watched it goodbye Jason see you at school ma'am but I copy bye oh also um um seed you gave me nuts she's gone gonna have another snack please so that's it for the hibernation Film Festival thanks for watching thank you to everybody that submitted a film we really enjoyed watching the creative and interesting ways people have gone about making films in isolation thank you also to our judges for helping us judge the shortlist and congratulations to all the winners we will be in touch to explain how you can collect your prize so final thing to do is just sign off goodbye good evening stay safe and thanks for watching oh one more thing so as a judge and part of the film festival I can submit a film if I had it would have been a collaborative piece where I'll ask as many people as I can to send clips of them talking to camera saying what they're going to do when they first get out of lockdown so I'm gonna make the film anyway and I do need the contributions from as many people as possible so if you can be bothered please film yourself on your phone a camera webcam whatever you've got and just simply tell me what you're most looking forward to or the first thing you're going to do when you get Iced out of isolation the first thing I'm going to do is take my baby daughter so go and see her grandparents so they can get a big hug what about you you
