Bear Jam Vlog - January 2020

okay so actually let me do it let me get the we at the board now it's that hello and welcome to our blog our very first blog so I'm planning to do a few regular updates from bear jam HQ to show you and tell you what we're up to what we're working on and share some of our latest and greatest work first of all I wanted to show you guys a recent project for Red Bull ExxonMobil so this was a series of five videos and seven so the videos were presented by only one presenter nathalie Pinkham it's a combination of green screen footage live-action stuff that we shot ourselves in Milton Keynes at the Red Bull headquarters some stock footage from the Red Bull libraries but the main piece is all about the 3d animation which were created by flock one of the rostered bedroom directors actually had directing geo we filmed a slit in a green screen studio and then removed the green background and Compton our own computer-generated really cool dynamic beautifully lit studio environment that naturally stood in and presents the video she brings that kind of information about the cars or the engines and little details about the fuel for the the viewer to enjoy so the next project I want to talk about is an exclusive short film we created for Netflix to promote the second season of sex education so season two has just come out and that season has a challenging storyline about sexual assault so we set up a conversation between Amy Liu wood and Patricia Allison who play Amy and Ola in the series along with the show's creator Laurie Nunn and everyday sexism founder Laura Bates in the morning and I got on and the thing that was really strange about it was that the bus was actually basically empty except like there was like one of a woman who was like at the back of the bus so as you'll see we filmed the interviews in a bus and really just kind of wanted to capture an honest and raw conversation of course it wasn't your fault for smiling at him but that's what the world tells us right I must have done something to deserve this it was very sensitive so we had to take quite a few measures to make sure that the people we were interviewing we're comfortable and that's one of the reason that we decided to have like the menu in it on set be all women so that they would feel as comfortable as possible discussing those things so that went live on Netflix is YouTube channel two days ago I think it's already over had over a hundred thousand views so we're we're really proud of it and it looks like people are really engaging with it okay so in other news we have signed two new directors first of all we have Joe South well Joe's a fantastic comedy director some of her starts up on her our website so take a look at that and secondly in the Colville apka who is a hugely talented drama director with a wealth of experience she's got some really great charity spots that she's done so what else have we been working on just before Christmas we shot these really fun kind of game of five interviews four revolute business Louie our in-house editor is sorry senior editor we will not replace it we're not like that if I get it right Louie's now training through all the footage that some great so I'm excited to be able to share those with you hopefully in the next vlog and finally a new starter so behind the camera is Rory and here's the newest member of bear jam team joining us as our videographer has done that might not make a cup I saw new news you've got some great new work some new directors a new starter and some interesting stuff in the pipeline I look forward to sharing with you all very soon so that's it for now single video oh subscribe though we're not that we're not there yet
