welcome to the september vlog and what a busy month it's been very excited to tell you all about it so the month kicked off with a very early morning start and we went down to bournemouth to film the one and only hi i'm mary redneck we arrived met harry and his dogs the project was for mcdonald's and the agency was ready 10 and harry was there to demonstrate how easy it is to work the new siri and my mcdonald's app integration so it's a really fun shoot kind of adopted two styles one was going to be a behind-the-scenes documentary a bit of a kind of unscripted feel and then the other was a bit more of a polished hurry down the lens piece to camera i'm here to show you how simple it is to order my mcdonald's using siri and he had a kind of an interaction with the director which kind of told the story of harry struggling with technology but seamlessly ordering his mcdonald's through the app the challenge was because we were there so early and harry was going to be ordering i think it was a big mac it was only breakfast time so we had to green screen the phone and then comp in the siri and iphone interaction later on in post see it's just that simple so the next project again for mcdonald's again for ready 10 was to thank parents for all they've done for kids during the last couple of months the idea we came up with was a ugc styled piece we put a castling call out with a bit of a brief how we wanted the clips filmed what we wanted to show and the type of content that we wanted we got loads of clips back and then created an edit with this real ugc feel so as well as the ugc clips we also did a shoot with miley in class so we wanted this to fit with the ugc footage and have a kind of selfie style insta story feel it's a really small crew just myself and a sound man we filmed on a mirrorless camera to give that smartphone look and capture the content in an afternoon with mileen and her fabulous daughter hero at a mcdonald's drive-thru and because the little means a lot i've given mama one of my mcnuggets to say thank you so next up was an animation for world rabies day and our brief was to create a kind of engaging animation that showed the risks of the disease and what to do if you get an infection we've done quite a few animations in lockdown and this one was a totally different style so it was really nice to get stuck into a more of a mixed media approach [Music] so next up was a project for computer leasing company hardsoft they came to us to create a suite of youtube ads so we had six second bumpers 30 second in streams and slightly longer discovery ads we scripted all of these recorded a voice over and then created the video using stock footage and on-screen text so the whole project was done and delivered without shooting any footage we put all the right apple devices for business in the hands of your team it's a really cost effective way to create a video especially in the confines of covid so the next project was for halifax i can't actually say too much or show you too much from this particular project but we had our crew in a closed halifax store we had actors posing as customers and halifax staff as usual our crew were brilliant all operating under the new covid restrictions so we were taking temperature there were face masks hand sand and all the usual precautions another interesting point to add we also had a live feed so our client could monitor what we were shooting remotely which again a really interesting way to operate shoots under the current climate so we didn't have to have too many people on set next up is a project for osprey or as they used to be called and jimmy well and genie are rebranding and renaming themselves to osprey so needed an updated video so we came up with a little story with a father and daughter off on a camping trip heading out in their electric car stopping on their journey for lunch to recharge the car use osprey's new app on the way to navigate and pay for the parking get receipts all those kind of key messages were weaved into the story we were quite a mobile unit on the days we had a few different locations to take in we had a remote production office which sunny our junior producer was able to run the shoot out of got the drone up we shot some carter car footage and luckily the weather played its part once the edit was done and the picture was locked we got into the color grade and added some on-screen graphics to really bring those key messages to life i also managed to squeeze in a another holiday down to devon cue devon drone shop that's me and my daughter on the beach in devon yes i do film a lot of my holidays yes i take a drone with me on holiday and yes i do live do more video so that's pretty much it for the september vlog we're into october and our shootout to help our offer still stands so we're doing free shoots for businesses that want to do more video so if that's you or someone you know please do get in touch we'd love to help right i think that's it from me have a good october stay safe be well and do more videos
