BearJam Video Production Company | March 2023 Vlog

hi I'm Kiana Reeves Chelsea Manning Bob Odenkirk Martin Luther King III Eric Andre Kendrick James I'm here and now you're here at South by Southwest what from here yeah what about because we're in a new position just cash oh we're doing the Vlog that is a mouthful I'm all fluster now hello and welcome to another shiny new Vlog coming to you live and direct from the bear Den merry month of March here we go let's kick it off roll V2 [Music] foreign has been my favorite month so far a couple of us have been down to Austin Texas for South by oh in Paris Texas the guys back in the studio have been busy too so South by Southwest or South Byers people call it was a real ride what an experience been there done that got the T-shirt thanks for noticing I've just written a blog post about my five key takeaways and spoiler alert I'm going to quickly tell you what each of them were takeaway number one the future is now so unsurprisingly there was a lot of talk at South by Southwest about new technologies and Innovation Lots about the metaverse generative AI all that good stuff we actually got to test a bit of generative AI at the Shutterstock stand which I really enjoyed but I have to say it really felt like we're kind of at the cusp of a real upswing of mass adoption which for me is really exciting and I think it'll be one of those pivotal moments in time a bit like the internet in the 90s where there's a bit of a Tipping Point and we see real changes so very excited about that takeaway number two it's a big part of South bite is obviously connecting with people and networking and there's so many opportunities everyone's really friendly you're just chatting to people in the queue sat next to people at screening strike out conversations there's so many opportunities to make new interesting connections do a bit of networking I actually met a Great British female director that we're hoping to do some work with back in the UK takeaway number three was the power of a great reveal now so much of the work we do as kind of content creators is all about grabbing attention up front getting key messages in but I kind of feel that a lot of work we do we lose the subtle art of a great reveal or a great plot twist so a big takeaway from for me is trying to incorporate a good reveal in the work that we do take away four storytelling is still okay King regardless of all that great technology it was a real reminder that a great storytelling is still key for an emotional connection with your audience I have to say that's the most amazing story I ever heard and my fifth takeaway and I'm not talking about a 2AM Wendy's was in fact just to remember to have fun and to stay open to New Opportunities and see where the wind takes you a great example of this I actually got a tip from an Uber driver for a recommendation of where to eat ended up going to this awesome barbecue place got chatting to the owner before I knew I was having a tour of the smoker really nice memorable moment there and an awesome burger at the end of it so that was Austin and South by back to some of the work that's been keeping us busy I'm coming to London we're asked by coming to Cooks to create a one take one for a short promo film to launch their new business now these guys and girls really know how to throw a dinner party but need a bear Jam to add that production value to reflect the premiere bespoke high-end catering experience now a one take single shot is challenging enough but we also wanted the camera to circle the dining room table so we had very few places we could hide our lights so we ended up having to use an inflatable light balloon big balloon to get a beautiful soft light across the table but also meant we didn't have any light stands in the room itself right next project who knows where the newest borough of culture is that's right Croydon over the last couple of months we've been working to capture croydon's culture for a very special film to celebrate the borough for the project we teamed up with croydon's very own Poet Laureate Shanika Benjamin and I can't tell you too much about this because the film actually premieres this weekend um or last weekend depending on when you'll watch this but as you've been such good loyal listeners Watchers we're gonna play a little teaser [Music] Croydon the one I see we need for you and me for us and we so back at the beginning of the month will and I took the trip to Sunny Suffolk it was actually I think with rain all day which made the shoot a bit of a challenge but we were spending some time with Lee from Osprey who are an EV charging Network to go behind the scenes and lift the lid on what it takes to create Britain's best charging Network I'm here today to make sure that the upkeep of this site is to the standard that Osprey expect and require from our maintenance teams right and just one more project before the end of the month today we've just been on set for three and Mischief in preparation for World backup day at Bitcoin break up 33. my partner threw away a hard drive with 100 million pounds worth of bitcoin please tell me with this video in the cloud back up finally a bit closer to home I'm really happy to welcome Daniel to the team bear Jam's newest new starter joining us a motion graphic designer welcome Daniel photo here so that's it from
