View transcript
so welcome back to my kitchen I've just spent 20 minutes tidying it I've got a fresh shirt on it must be time for a new vlog and for those of you that followed them religiously you probably noticed I didn't do one in April so this you'll be pleased to hear is a double-header April and May at Scotland winding back the clock all the way to the start of April the month kicked off with a first for me and that was the live interview on BBC Radio London BC Radio London make a difference V the hibernation Film Festival has been founded by Bergen productions James Hilditch is its chief chief something chief director he's in charge of it anyway he's in charge of the hibernation Film Fest when he joins me now hi James oh I'm alright thank you very much so you've come up with this rather ingenious thing that to get London filming itself what is it London base was it world base well I guess it did stuff just for our own network of crews and freelancers that are London based and we thought you know why not open it up to the to the world really so everyone and everybody that needs to be an experienced filmmaker in anyway we just wanted to challenge people to get creative and have a go filmmaking and you know challenge themselves to try something new perhaps and submit a film short film to our to our festival it was pretty nerve-wracking actually but I didn't say anything to stupids golda points across and yeah I think like I kind of enjoyed it although my heart was pounding quite hard throughout the whole thing it's time at 12:30 for the latest news headlines those of you that missed the radio interview or didn't know we as we went into lockdown we decided to host an online Film Festival last months till the end of the festival we ran a live stream to announce all the shortlisted films and of course those winners and times of things we want and we learned that it's less about what we do more about how we do the winner of Best narrative and taking home the prize of a weekend camera higher from ship four is mind tricks you can still catch the recording of that so if you're interested to watch all the films that one go check that out we've recently completed a project that we've been pretty busy with actually over the past two months which was to build not one but two brand new animations for toolbar underwriters and cyber and Technology team so tool book commissioned us to create two animations both with a very different look and feel first one was to explain the risk of cyber attacks on SMEs any digital device can be used to gain illegal access to steal our sensitive data and cause expensive business interruption downtime and the second animation was to show people what support is available to help them if the policyholders computer network is under a ransomware attack and their files and backup versions are encrypted IT forensics experts can be brought in to provide technical support over the phone at Bodrum we are very proud to support our charity partner muscular dystrophy UK we provide them with video support for their campaigns and events and this is particularly important at the moment because the charity is actually battling to fill a 2.8 million pound funding gap from lost events due to Crona virus one such event was the brilliant town and gown 10k run where the charity was hoping for a valuable fundraising injection but obviously couldn't run the event so they had to take it online we helped them create a video for them to stream to an audience that were encouraged to take part with interactive warm-up games interviews and the audience had to complete various interactive challenges that were sat on the livestream so it's not all been animation and post-production we recently been a shoot for Harvey Jones where we took a crew just three of us to one of their showrooms up in North London we of course worked really hard to put some procedures and certain measures in place to keep everybody safe so we're now into post-production for that project we're of course having to do that or online so video calls with screen shares to look at edits and we really rely on the moment on the Vimeo review link which is really useful way for the why Bettina to feedback on edits so what else are we working on well currently in post-production we have a project involving some sock puppets shot on a green screen and animation using some really cool hand drawn elements a bit of socially distant real estate drone filming so that's a little snapshot of what we've been up to the last two months what's been keeping us busy and locked down some of our directors have been doing some really great work as well deemed Russell has created a at home tabletop studio where he shot this really beautiful piece with some dominoes definitely going check that out and Scott Ross Thor and half of the awesome duo that our diamond bullet has produced a film with a little insight into his family during lockdown and isolation isolation has been a mix of different thing I was going to say just need to sign off so that's it from me thanks for listening I hope you've enjoyed the vlog any questions feel free to get in touch we want to talk about some of the things that we learn from our shoot in lockdown or obviously all the post-production that we're doing at the moment feel free to reach out I'd love to have a chat but that's it from me so stay safe and do more video cut up don't want to thank lapse miles here just me
